ESPADA AND MALDONADO ON AIR ON TGW RADIO
The Radio Show Good Morning Guatemala OF TGW (the Voice of Guatemala) interviewed the Vice President Espada and CONRED´s Executive Secretary Mr. Maldonado about the Tropical Storm Agatha.

The radio program Good Morning Guatemala, which is broadcasted by state radio TGW on 107.3 FM, was made today from the press room of the Executive Secretariat of the National Coordinator for Disaster Reduction-SE-CONRED.
The Vice Leader, Dr. Rafael Espada said that action has been taken in support of the population affected by the activity of the volcano Pacaya and Tropical Storm Agatha, implementing operations in affected communities to help many families.
We also appreciated the humanitarian assistance of the cooperating countries that are coming to Conred, this is the case of Japan, who through its Ambassador on Friday gave a donation innovative portable water purifying filters with storage tank.

Vice President Rafael Espada said the hospital network of the country is prepared to handle any outbreak that may occur as a result of the rains, the main diseases occurring in winter are respiratory and gastrointestinal tracts, so it is recommended to citizens to be beware of eating foods that are not prepared hygienically. "Colds, cough, and viral and bacterial processes, may affect us, we must prevent this, first the gastro-gastrointestinal bu using clean water, eating cooked food that are well supervised and then respiratory part. " Dr. Espada said.
The final report of the National Coordinator for Disaster Reduction (Conred) said today that the death toll from the storm "Agatha" climbed to 172 and maintained 101 missing and 148 wounded. Those affected by natural phenomenon amounts to 344,814 which of those 79,535 were victims and 126,813 were people at risk. In addition, 98,339, people are in 442 shelters that were fitted in 20 departments affected by the storm.
A preliminary assessment of the Ministry of Communications, 24 bridges collapsed and 19 others are damaged, while the portfolio of Education accounts of 1,228 schools damaged. While 7597 houses were destroyed and another 38 864 were damaged.
